How to Get a RAKEZ Investor Visa

A RAKEZ Investor Visa allows business owners to live and operate legally in the UAE through their RAKEZ-registered company. If you are the sole shareholder of a RAKEZ company, you can apply for an investor visa. If the company has multiple shareholders, the shareholders typically apply for a partner visa instead.

Step 1: Set Up Your RAKEZ Company

Before applying for an investor visa, you must first:

  • Choose your business activity
  • Select a license type
  • Register your company with RAKEZ
  • Receive your trade license and company registration documents

Once the license is issued, the visa application process can begin.

Step 2: Apply for an Entry Permit

The first stage of the visa process is applying for an entry permit through the RAKEZ Portal 360 system.

After approval, you will receive an electronic entry permit (e-visa), subject to immigration approval. Certain nationalities may require additional embassy procedures.

Step 3: Complete Visa Activation

After entering the UAE or changing your visa status if you are already inside the country, your visa file is activated through the immigration system.

Step 4: Medical Fitness Test

Applicants must complete a medical fitness examination at an approved UAE medical center.

The medical test typically includes:

  • Blood test
  • Chest X-ray
  • General health screening

A valid medical report is required before residency visa issuance.

Step 5: Apply for an Emirates ID

You must complete Emirates ID registration, including:

  • Biometric capture
  • Photograph
  • Identity verification

The Emirates ID is mandatory for UAE residents.

Step 6: Obtain Health Insurance

A valid health insurance policy from an immigration-approved provider is required during the visa process.

Step 7: Receive Your UAE Residence Visa

After completing all requirements, your UAE residence visa will be issued under your RAKEZ company. This allows you to:

  • Live in the UAE
  • Open personal and corporate bank accounts
  • Lease property
  • Sponsor eligible family members
  • Conduct business activities legally

Documents Required

Typically, you will need:

  • Passport with at least 6 months’ validity
  • Passport-sized photograph with white background
  • RAKEZ company documents
  • Trade license
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Health insurance policy
  • Emirates ID application details

Can You Get an Investor Visa as a Shareholder?

Yes. RAKEZ confirms that investor visas are available for single-shareholder companies. For companies with multiple shareholders, partner visas are generally issued instead.

Green Visa Option for Investors

If you meet certain investment criteria, RAKEZ also supports applications for a 5-year UAE Green Visa. One of the eligibility criteria is a minimum share capital investment of AED 1 million in the company.
